The Leader In Me
Throughout my middle school and high school career, I’ve held multiple leadership and captain positions. In middle school, I was a WEB (Where Everybody Belongs) leader, in Leadership and in the Yearbook Club. Also in middle school, I played soccer, ran track and was the basketball captain. In fact, one year I set the school record for the 4x4 and was the only girl to attend regionals. Before leaving Union Middle School I established a new volunteer program working with the local assisted living home in San Jose and was honored to receive the Principal’s Award for leadership at 8th grade graduation. Thus far at Mitty, I was honored to be one of three nominees for the school’s freshman class of 400 students to receive the Mitty Student Athlete Award. Alongside my commitment to school, sports and volunteerism, I’ve maintained a 3.6 GPA.
The Athlete In Me
Sports and physical education are very important to me. Besides playing soccer, I’m very active with water sports like wake boarding, gym sports like spin class and hot yoga (and even goat yoga!) and running on my off-days from soccer. This year, and during the pandemic and online training timeframe, my soccer coach asked me to teach virtual HIT (high intensity training) classes for teams. I’m also very active with sports at Mitty, previously managing stats for the JV and Varsity football and Lacrosse teams and participating in an invite-only strength and conditioning class.
